How To Fix Error 404 On Your WordPress Website

Error 404 is a common issue on the World Wide Web which you may have experienced at least once in your life.

What is Error 404?

The Error 404 or 404 Page not found appears when a user searches for a specific page or a website which has been removed from the server.

The hosting company generates the “Error 404” or “404 pages not found” whenever a user tries to open a dead link or broken link.

It may happen when you might have changed the URL of a post, or the user has mistyped the URL, or the webpage has been moved permanently.

You may have come across Error 404, 404 pages not found, HTTP 404, Error 404, 404 files and directory not found on the server when you searched for any particular page or website which is not available.

But what if you tried to log in on WordPress admin and you get “File not found (404 error)“.

Do not panic!

Whenever you get an error while login to the WordPress admin panel it may be an issue with the SSL certificate or you need to update the site URL in hosting database.

It might occur due to change of HTTP:// to https:// or vice versa.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a certificate which makes the connection between server and visitor’s system.
